The 2009 Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Charity Cars Campaign (Neighbors Helping Neighbors) is believed to be one of the largest single charitable vehicle donations to victims of domestic violence. Now military families (Hometown Heroes) without the means to own a reliable vehicle while the mother and/or father is serving our country are included.
Refurbished vehicles are given to worthy and qualified recipients selected by numerous domestic violence shelters under the guidance and direction of the original Charity Cars organization. Charity Cars will also be working with the United States Military for those families in our area who are in need as well.
This vehicle gift program is sponsored by the warehouses, parts stores and certified service centers flying the Auto Value/ Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper flags. The certified service centers donate their labor and the manufacturers, warehouses and parts stores will furnish the necessary replacement parts to refurbish vehicles to safe and reliable road worthiness. Other shops, stores and employees donate funds to purchase needed tires, child car seats and fuel cards.
Cars are still needed to refurbish. It’s not too late. Anyone interested can call 1-800 Charity (1.800.242.7489) and mention the Auto Value Bumper To Bumper program. Donors are still eligible for income tax deductions based on the disposition of their vehicle donation.
The freedom of transportation is the final piece missing for the victims and allows them to get their children to school, to appointments and to their place of employment.
