WHAT IS IT?
The purpose of Charity Auto Repair (CARe) is to provide parts suppliers and certified service centers (CSC) of Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper the opportunity to give back to their local communities by performing vehicle repairs for those in need.
During the past few years, U.S. and Canadian Auto Value and Bumper To Bumper Certified Service Centers embarked on a mission of extreme magnitude to refurbish 1,000 vehicles for victims escaping domestic violence and beginning a new life. The Charity Cars Campaign was successful earning the respect of local communities through the public relations efforts and best of all helping a disadvantaged portion of the population.
In 2009, the charitable momentum is still strong but with a few changes. The NEW program is called CARe.
The goal is for each CSC flying the Auto Value or Bumper to Bumper flag to conduct maintenance or a repair on at least one vehicle in their area. The CSC will perform the maintenance while the parts store delivers the necessary parts shipped to them from the warehouse.
Coordination will be that the AV BTB CSC in conjunction with Auto Wares CARe Chairperson or Coordinator establishes a qualified recipient through their local schools, Red Cross, Police and Fire Depts, churches, fraternal organizations or military offices and offers a repair to a neighbor in their community that owns a car and is a qualified recipient of a CARe repair.
The retail value of the repairs being made generally won’t exceed $1000 including parts and labor. The owner of the vehicle receives the Confidence Plus nationwide warranty along with the 12 month To Your Rescue program. The gifting shop does a complete inspection of the recipient’s vehicle and then sends into the Marketing Dept a list of necessary parts to complete the repair. Once the job is complete, it is strongly urged to invite the local press to the gifting of the repair event in the community.
Our goal is for every one of the 700 Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Certified Service Centers in MI, OH. IN, IL and WI to gift ONE repair as a part of the nationwide effort of gifting over 2700 repairs.
WHY DO THIS?

- To raise the competitive bar to a level other organizations can’t reach
- To raise the bar of excellence in our industry
- To improve our public image as automotive service professionals
- To help raise awareness of the Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper name in your market
This is a great way for a hometown hero (the CSC) to acknowledge another of the town’s hometown heros!
